What others are saying

“She’s as Alaskan as you can get. She’s a hockey mom, she lives on a lake, she ice fishes, she snowmobiles, she hunts, she’s an NRA member, she has a float plane, and her husband works for BP on the North Slope,”

- Dan Fagan, an Anchorage radio talk show host.

Look at Governor Palin’s experience. She has a much broader background than the Democrat nominee, Barack Hussein Obama (born August 4, 1961). At 44, she is only 2 1/2 years younger than Obama but with much more practical business and life experience. A person who has actually run businesses and had to make payroll will be a much better leader than a career politician.

If her story isn’t an inspiration to women out there rising from the PTA to vice presidential hopeful as she has, then they are just too partisan, jealous and ignorant to be inspired and only care about the choice to be able to kill their own babies or not, period.

A word of warning regarding the future vice president -
First of all, unlike our current Vice President, Sarah Palin, the future Vice President of The United States is a MUCH better aim

Congratulations to them! It’s so nice to hear how they feel about having a Downs/special needs kid. My younger brother has Down Syndrome and he is without a doubt the best thing that ever happened to my family and is just the sweetest kid in the world, despite the challenges and hard times!

He sure is a cute little munchkin! I hope, if he has Downs or whatever else, that he does not have the additional problems that comes with it sometimes such as heart problems. I wish him good health and a long and happy life. :-) Welcome to the world, Trig!

Congratulations to the family! My youngest son has Down syndrome and he is such a huge blessing to our family!

Just to note that I was only 24 when I had my son, doesn’t just occur with older mothers :)

Congrats to Alaska’s first family! Adorable picture and I really like Trig’s name! My daughter’s middle name is also a place that is significant to me and my husband. …

I think it is so lovely they look at this so positively. The baby is lucky to have understanding parents! I hope he is doing well too. My OBGYN has me do testing early on too and it was stressful even though I felt the results would be fine. You just never know. I almost didn’t want to have the test as it would not have changed how much we wanted our little one.
anyway their new addition hasa great family!

Congratulations on your new family addition. My first son also had Down Syndrome. I completely understand the confusing feelings upon birth, as you do feel sad because your baby isn’t healthy or will live the life most kiddos do. But, as in my case, I soon realized that I was so blessed to have Seth in my life and that I was ready to be his champion. I truly love the Down Syndrome community and how it was affected our lives. The Palin family was chosen by God to love this most special loving child.

First of all welcome your new son to your family. I I have two children with special needs. Just remember it’s not what they can’t do. is what they can do. God bless you and your new son.

I have always had a special place in my heart for children with Down’s Syndrome. They are some of the happiest children you will ever see and also some of the sweetest! It takes a lot of personal strength for a woman to be involved in politics and I have no doubt that this personal strength will help the Governor and her husband raise their newest bundle of joy through any challenges he may have to overcome! I also commend her on the unique name choices for her children. Congrats to the Palin family!

We are honored here in Alaska to have Sarah as our Governor. Now we’re truly blessed to have Trig and the rest of the Palin family share their lives with us.
